PUBLIC HEARING/COMMENT PERIOD NOTICE JEFFERSON COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN
5/27/2015  As required by the Alabama Solid Wastes & Recyclable Materials Management Act (SWRMMA), Code of Alabama 1975, §22-27-47, the Jefferson County Commission will conduct a public hearing to solicit public comment concerning the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP or Plan).

JEFFERSON COUNTY SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN

 

 

As required by the Alabama Solid Wastes & Recyclable Materials Management Act (SWRMMA), Code of Alabama 1975, §22-27-47, the Jefferson County Commission will conduct a public hearing to solicit public comment concerning the County’s Solid Waste Management Plan (SWMP or Plan).  The Public Hearing will be held Thursday, July 9, 2015 at 9:00 AM at the Jefferson County Commission Chamber, Room 270 (Jefferson County Courthouse), 716 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd. N, Birmingham, AL.

 

Copies of the draft Jefferson County Solid Waste Management Plan will be available for review, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Mondays through Fridays (excluding holidays), between the dates of June 1, 2015 and July 8, 2015 at the Offices of the Jefferson County Environmental Services Department, Suite A-300, 716 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd. N, Birmingham, AL.  To obtain copies of the document or to obtain additional information, contact Ms. Tonya Kelley, Jefferson County Environmental Services Department, Suite A-300, 716 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd. N, Birmingham, AL, phone: (205) 325-5139 or at jeffcoes.org under the News tab. 

 

If any local citizen wishes to submit public comments, such comments shall be submitted in writing no later than 9:00 AM on July 9, 2015 to: Ms. Tonya Kelley, Jefferson County Environmental Services Department, Suite A-300, 716 Richard Arrington Jr Blvd. N, Birmingham, AL 35203. Public comments may also be submitted, in writing, at the Public Hearing (date and address given above).  In order to affect final decisions or content of the SWMP, comments must offer technically substantial information that is applicable to the proposed Plan.
